Whether you think that it is climate change, climate cycles or just bad luck, California’s schools and communities have been hit with devastating disasters over the last two years. Wildfires, floods and their aftermath seem, unfortunately, to have become the new normal. Among the hardest hit areas in the state have been Butte, Sonoma and Santa Barbara counties. Education leaders from those counties, who have been on the front lines dealing with issues related to these disasters, will share information about how their communities and schools were affected, how they responded, and how all education leaders can be better prepared.
