This talk will present Emory University’s new K-12 program SEE Learning (Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning), a free program for domestic and international implementation that is based on the latest developments in educational practice and science across a range of disciplines. SEE Learning has been described by Daniel Goleman, author of Emotional Intelligence and co-founder of the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) as “SEL 2.0” because it incorporates many features not found in other SEL programs, including attention training, the cultivation of compassion, systems thinking, and trauma-informed approaches to dealing with stress and regulating the nervous system. SEE Learning is already being implemented in school systems in the US as well as South America, Europe, India, and other areas in the Middle East and Asia. School administrators will be shown the distinctive components of this program, how specifically it can help educators and students, and how to access and implement the program in their schools through the educator and facilitator training process, which can include both in-person and online training.
